horror movie review

The information that I have got from this is that SAW is the highest ranked horror movie ever and that the audience seem to like it.

Having looked through some reviews the general British public seem to highly rate saw as a movie that scares, intrigues and frightened the British public this means that saw is a proper horror film that the general public feels that saw captures all the emotions needed to be a great horror film.

Some positive reviews on saw:
‘May be the best independent horror film to have come out since "The Blair Witch Project." It's certainly better than "Blair Witch", and more fun, more gruesome, and more macabre. In a very delightful way’.

‘Saw is for me the best modern horror movie! It's interesting from start to finish, you can feel for the characters and it has a dark atmosphere. These things get unfortunately lost in the last sequels’.

My company not only looked at the reviews of saw we also took the time to look at how the movie sold on DVD and it’s fair to say that saw was as productive selling on DVD as it was in the cinemas as well.

conventions

1.       In the first convention to make a good music video the artist must be in the video throughout because it’s what the target audience want to see and it connects with them on an emotional level because they like the artist a lot.
i used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks i got close ups and long shots of the artist in the video throughout the play and i made sure that i got clips from the start of the video to the end so that the audience knows they are in the video throughout.

2.       The song is normally the soundtrack to the whole video because the audience want to listen to the song throughout and that is the reason why they watch the music video.
i            I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks i made sure the clips i took made sure the audience knew the song was the soundtrack to the whole video by taking clips from the start and the end of the video.

3.       Lip-synching is used so that the artist can do dancing and not worry about forgetting the words as he will be dancing the camera will be moved to show the whole body which makes lip-synching seem real.
I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks i got close ups of each artist in the video when they were lip-synching and also little clips of when the artist was dancing and lip-synching at the same time so the camera angles started to become further away so we don't focus on the artist's singing.

4.       The artist is in the whole music video which is good because that’s what the target audience want to see which the artist is performing in the video this means more viewers would view the video as it has the artist in it.
I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks i got clips from the start of the music video to the end to show that the artist was in the music video throughout.

5.       In the music video there would be different locations, there would be different locations so the video isn’t boring this is good because the target audience doesn’t get bored and stop watching.
I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks i got 3 clips of each video when the location changed.

6.        When the locations change the costumes change this is good because it enhances the meaning of the video and it keeps the target audience interested.

I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks i got 3 clips of each video when the location changed and also when the costume of the artist changed when the location changed.

7.       The whole video was filmed in a studio and this was clear because the background was always changing. They do this to save money and also to show the performance e.g. dancing in a clear way without any distractions.
I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks and i took clips from the video of when the artist are actually performing in a studio.

8.       The video will usually contain some kind of narrative often inter-cut with performance shots this is good as it gives a different meaning to a video rather than a video having a story.
I used the songs Caro, same girl, pompeli, lotus flower and how many drinks all of these videos had a narrative apart from the music video same girl so i used the money on my mind video and i got clips of all the music videos near to the end of the video.

9.       The music video will usually contain a range of camera movements to create a dynamic look, they do this so that the target audience don’t get bored of looking at the same thing throughout the whole video, and this is good because it makes the rest of the video interesting.

10.   The video will mostly close ups for lip-synching midshots for performance and extreme close ups, this makes the video seem like the artist is actually singing and it becomes interesting to the target audience.

11.   The video will often use high angle shots to create a vulnerable look or low angles to create a dominant look this is done to help show a narrative in the video

12.   There will be a wide range of different shots in each location to allow dynamic and non-repetitive to allow dynamic and non-repetitive editing this allows the audience to be looking at something different to be looking at something different in the video to show variation and keep the viewers interested.

13.   The editing will cut to the beat and will be montage editing this will

14.   Quite often a slow motion effect is created to make a slick feel this helps to play on the viewer’s emotions and this makes the music video this is help to show the characters emotions in the video.

15.   The video will be based on around a concept rather than a story so that the audience connects to the artist who is performing.

16.   Eye contact with the audience so that the audience thinks that performer is looking at them and connecting with them possibly on an emotional level.
